Boo at the Zoo

Spooky, family-friendly Halloween celebration at the Milwaukee County Zoo.

The Milwaukee County Zoo transforms into a Halloween celebration with family-friendly activities perfect for the whole crew. Kids can follow a trick-or-treat trail through the zoo collecting candy at designated stops (bring your own treat bags), navigate a haystack maze, watch live pumpkin-carving demonstrations, and enjoy a dazzling light show. The zoo will have several animal buildings open during the event, including the Aquatic & Reptile Center, Big Cat Country, and Primates of the World. Mad Science of Milwaukee will also be on-site with interactive experiments. Costumes are encouraged for everyone, though the event keeps things family-friendly and not-too-spooky—adults are asked to avoid scary costumes. General admission costs $18 for adults and $16 for children ages 3–12 (younger kids get in free). Your ticket includes parking. Zoo Pass members receive a 15% discount plus access to an exclusive members-only activity. You'll need to purchase tickets online in advance, and they're valid only for your specific date. Food and beverages are available for purchase. The event runs rain or shine, so plan accordingly. Refunds aren't available, so choose your date carefully when ordering tickets.
