China Lights at Boerner Botanical Gardens (Hales Corners)

Your family can explore over 40 handcrafted lantern displays lighting up the gardens with the theme "Legends Come Alive." Walk through scenes inspired by ancient Chinese tradition, enchanted oceans, and fantasy worlds as you stroll the grounds at your own pace. The experience is designed for all ages and includes interactive displays where kids can play and pose within the illuminated scenes. A free audio tour on your mobile device shares the stories behind each lantern creation. The gardens come alive with nightly entertainment featuring live Asian folk art and acrobatics performances at 6:15 PM, 7:30 PM, and 8:45 PM. Two food courts are on-site with snacks, meals, beverages, and beer available for purchase. Tickets can be purchased in advance, and the event runs evening hours throughout the season, making it an easy outing to plan around family schedules.
