China Lights at Boerner Botanical Gardens (Hales Corners)

Step into a world of glowing artistry at this enchanting outdoor experience. More than 40 handcrafted lantern displays transform the gardens with the theme "Legends Come Alive," featuring scenes inspired by ancient Chinese tradition, magical oceans, and fantasy realms. The whole family can wander through the illuminated landscape at their own pace, discovering interactive displays where kids can pose and play as part of the art. A free audio tour available on your mobile device adds storytelling context to each installation. To round out the evening, live performances showcase Asian folk art and acrobatics at three different times (6:15 PM, 7:30 PM, and 8:45 PM), so you can catch a show that fits your schedule. Two food courts are on-site with snacks, full meals, beverages, and beer for adults. This is designed as a magical, all-ages outing that works well whether you're visiting with young children, teens, or the whole extended family. Tickets are required for entry.
