China Lights at Boerner Botanical Gardens (Hales Corners)

This year's theme, "Legends Come Alive," takes you through ancient Chinese traditions, magical oceans, and fantasy worlds—all beautifully illuminated after dark. The gardens transform into an interactive wonderland where families can explore at their own pace, play with illuminated displays, and snap photos among the glowing art installations. Throughout the evening, live performances bring the experience to life with Asian folk art and acrobatics at 6:15 PM, 7:30 PM, and 8:45 PM. A free audio tour available on your mobile device shares the stories and meanings behind each lantern display. Two food courts offer a range of snacks, meals, and beverages to keep everyone fueled during your visit.
