China Lights at Boerner Botanical Gardens (Hales Corners)

Over 40 handcrafted lantern displays fill the gardens with scenes inspired by ancient Chinese legends, magical oceans, and fantasy worlds. As you wander through the illuminated landscape, you'll encounter interactive installations where families can play and pose among the lights. A free audio tour (via the STQRY Guide app) shares the stories behind each display at your own pace. The experience includes live performances throughout the evening—Asian folk art and acrobatics take the stage at 6:15 PM, 7:30 PM, and 8:45 PM. Two food courts offer a range of snacks, meals, and beverages to enjoy between attractions.
