China Lights at Boerner Botanical Gardens (Hales Corners)

Step into a world of glowing artistry at this outdoor lantern festival featuring over 40 handcrafted displays inspired by ancient Chinese legends, magical oceans, and fantastical worlds. The illuminated path winds through the botanical gardens, creating an immersive evening experience that brings stories and traditions to life through light and color. Entertainment and interactive elements keep the experience engaging for the whole family. Catch live performances of traditional Asian folk art and acrobatics at multiple times throughout the evening (6:15 PM, 7:30 PM, and 8:45 PM). You can also play with interactive displays that let you become part of the glowing scenery, use the free audio tour on your phone to learn the backstories of each lantern installation, and grab food and drinks from two on-site food courts offering snacks, meals, and beverages. This is designed as a welcoming experience for guests of all ages.
