China Lights at Boerner Botanical Gardens (Hales Corners)

More than 40 handcrafted lantern displays transform the gardens with the theme "Legends Come Alive," featuring scenes inspired by ancient Chinese tradition, mythical oceans, and fantasy worlds. The experience runs from early evening into the night, giving your family plenty of time to wander through the illuminated landscape at your own pace. Throughout the evening, live performances bring the magic to life—catch traditional Asian folk art and acrobatics at multiple times each night. Interactive lantern displays let kids (and adults) play and pose right alongside the artwork. A free audio tour available through the STQRY Guide app shares stories about the lanterns as you explore. Two food courts offer a range of snacks, meals, and beverages to keep everyone satisfied.
