Christmas on The Avenue West Allis, Parade, Tree Lighting and More

This beloved seasonal celebration brings the community together for an evening of festive fun. The night kicks off with the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at City Hall, featuring holiday choral performances, warm beverages, and the lighting of the city's largest Christmas tree. Following that, the main event—a nighttime parade—fills Greenfield Avenue with marching bands, live performers, creative floats, vintage vehicles, elves, cartoon characters, and Santa Claus himself leading the way. The full celebration actually spans two days, starting Friday with the Christkindlmarkt (a European-style Christmas market with over 60 vendors, local food, and holiday shopping) and continuing Saturday with additional family activities. On Saturday afternoon, families can also visit Allis in Winterland at City Hall, a movie-themed event with decorations, activities, and the chance to write letters to Santa. Everything is free to attend, making this a wonderful way for families to embrace the holiday season together in West Allis.
