Día de los Muertos Celebrations at the Milwaukee Art Museum

Join your family for an afternoon celebrating Día de los Muertos at the Milwaukee Art Museum. This hands-on event invites visitors to explore the beauty and meaning of this important tradition through interactive activities and performances. You'll have access to free art-making stations, the chance to meet local artists and community organizations, and the opportunity to contribute to a community ofrenda alongside professional artists. The museum's galleries remain open throughout the event for browsing. Throughout the afternoon, your family can enjoy live entertainment, including a musical performance by Mariachi Infantil and Mariachi Juvenil from the Latino Arts Strings Program at 11:30 a.m., followed by a dance performance by Ometochtli Mexican Folk Dance at 2 p.m. Kids can borrow free activity materials from the ArtPack Station and create art with visiting guest artists. This is a drop-in event, so there's no need to register in advance. Museum members get free admission, and general admission applies otherwise.
