Doors Open Milwaukee is a free community celebration that invites families to explore over 150 historic buildings, cultural landmarks, and unique spaces throughout the city. During this annual event, you'll have behind-the-scenes access to neighborhoods and architectural gems that don't typically open to the public. This year, 40 additional locations are participating through a partnership with UW-Milwaukee, giving you even more to discover. Best of all, most activities are completely free—no tickets required.
If you want to go deeper, there are also about 40 optional ticketed tours available, with prices ranging from free to $10 per tour. These in-depth experiences let you learn more from guides about specific buildings and neighborhoods. The full list of participating locations will be announced in early September so you can plan ahead. This event is perfect for families interested in history, architecture, and learning more about Milwaukee's neighborhoods.
