Environmental Education Outdoor Classroom for Kids at Retzer Nature Center

Kids ages 4–12 can dive into nature-focused learning through guided outdoor exploration at Retzer Nature Center. Each Wednesday session focuses on a different seasonal topic—from animal habitats and water cycles to insect engineering and winter wildlife behavior. Children get hands-on experience discovering how the natural world works around them, with activities tailored to keep young learners engaged and curious. Sessions run one hour and cost just $6 per child. Every child needs an adult companion (adults attend free), and you'll want to dress for outdoor weather since most of the program happens outside. If conditions are poor, activities move indoors. Registration is required and opens online until noon the day before each session.
