Guided Fossil Tour

Your family can step back in time during this hands-on cave exploration at Cave of the Mounds. A knowledgeable Cave Educator will guide you through the limestone cavern and share fascinating insights about the fossils found there—some of which are even older than dinosaurs. You'll walk along the cave trail looking for these ancient treasures and learn what makes fossilization so incredibly rare (less than one-tenth of 1% of creatures ever become fossils!). Whether your kids dream of being paleontologists, geologists, or archaeologists, this tour lets them experience the real work of discovery. Every tour concludes with a special takeaway: each participant receives a bag of fossils to bring home. This is a wonderful activity for curious kids who love nature, history, and science. Tours run weekly throughout November, so you can choose the Sunday that works best for your family's schedule.
