Intergenerational playgroups

Free intergenerational playgroup where toddlers meet and play with older adults.

Bring your young children to connect with older residents in a meaningful monthly gathering designed for everyone to benefit. During these two-and-a-half-hour sessions, kids and seniors spend time together through structured activities including a welcome song, simple crafts, themed play, free playtime, and a goodbye song. Your child will build friendships with peers while also developing patience and respect by interacting with people of different ages and abilities. The relaxed, welcoming environment helps both children and residents feel at ease and creates opportunities for real relationships to develop as families return month after month. This is a completely free opportunity that asks only for your enthusiasm and openness. While participation is open to all ages, the program encourages families to register for the full session when possible—familiar faces mean a lot to the residents. Monthly emails keep registered participants informed about upcoming themes and details. If you're interested in extending the experience, the Lake Country Mom Movement organizes optional coffee meetups and group walks to and from the facility on session days. Registration is capped at 30 volunteers per session. For questions or if you need to cancel, reach out to brianna@kicmke.org.
