Intergenerational playgroups
Free intergenerational playgroups at Hartland Terrace for toddlers and older adults.
Bring your child to connect with older adults in a meaningful monthly playgroup experience. These gatherings at Hartland Terrace create a warm, relaxed space where young children and senior residents interact through simple activities—think crafts, themed games, and free play, bookended by hello and goodbye songs. Each month features a new theme designed to spark interaction between children, caregivers, and residents. Over time, these repeated visits help kids and residents build real relationships and become familiar faces to one another.
This program is wonderful for families who want to model kindness and help children develop empathy, patience, and social skills while seniors benefit from the joy and energy kids naturally bring. Sessions run from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on set dates through December. There's no cost, and all ages are welcome. Registration is free, and the organizers ask that families commit to the full session when possible so residents see consistent, familiar faces. If you can only make some dates, you can note that during sign-up. For more details or questions, reach out to brianna@kicmke.org.
