Pumpkin Party in the Park

Spend an autumn evening celebrating at Nixon Park with activities the whole family can enjoy. Start with free Trunk or Treat in the parking lot, then explore a hay bale maze, watch the pie-eating contest, bounce in the inflatable activities, and snap photos at the backdrop. If your kids are dressed up, they can join the costume parade. Several activities do have a fee—including a pumpkin river race, pumpkin painting, pumpkin chucking, and a caramel apple station—plus food and drinks are available for purchase. Bring a chair or blanket and settle in for a showing of "Hocus Pocus" at 6:30 pm. Costumes are encouraged throughout the event. Note that there's a haunted trail walk option as well. All proceeds from food and drink sales support the Hartland Public Library's children's area renovation project. Fair warning: parking along E. Park Avenue isn't available, so plan to use the designated parking areas (check the event's parking map for details).
