Rag Rug Placemats

Join instructors Kathy Wichgers and Carol Ebert for an afternoon of hands-on crafting at the botanical gardens. You'll learn to crochet fabric scraps into attractive placemats using a simple rag rug technique. This is a great way to upcycle leftover cotton fabric while picking up a new skill you can use at home. The instructors will provide you with a crochet hook sized to your project, which you'll get to take home afterward. This three-hour class works well for adults and families looking for a creative activity. Before you arrive, gather 2 yards of cotton fabric and a matching artificial flower to incorporate into your design. By the end of the session, you'll have completed one placemat and the knowledge to make more for upcoming holiday gatherings or everyday use. Registration is required.
