Scarecrow Lane

Bring your family out to Retzer Nature Center this fall for Scarecrow Lane, a self-guided walk through the natural beauty of autumn. Visitors stroll the Blue Trail to discover creative scarecrow displays set up by community members, families, schools, and local groups. It's a wonderful way to enjoy the season's colors, get some fresh air, and see what others have crafted. The trail winds near the Children's Garden and loops around the scenic Retzer pond. If your family is feeling creative, you're invited to build your own scarecrow at home and display it along the trail—there's no fee to participate. Just follow the provided instructions, include an ID card, and install your creation during the designated setup window. The trails feature woodchipped and mowed grass with some gentle slopes; note that the path isn't paved or lit after dark. Best of all, admission is completely free, no registration is needed, and walk-ins are always welcome.
