Head to Retzer Nature Center this fall for a self-guided walk along the Blue Trail to discover creative scarecrow displays throughout the property. The route begins near the Children's Garden and winds past the scenic pond, making it a perfect way to enjoy autumn colors and get outside with your family. If your family is feeling creative, you're invited to build your own scarecrow at home and display it along the trail. There's no cost to participate—just follow the provided instructions, include an ID card with your creation, and install it during the designated setup dates. Families, schools, scout groups, and community organizations of all kinds are welcome to contribute. Keep in mind that trails are woodchipped with some sloped terrain and aren't lit after dark. This popular community activity runs daily from sunrise to 10 p.m., and admission is completely free.
