Families and groups are invited to build their own scarecrow at home and display it along the Blue Trail, where it will be featured alongside creations from other community members like schools, churches, and scout groups. There's no fee to participate—just follow the provided instructions, print an ID card to attach to your scarecrow, and install it during the designated setup window. Your creation becomes part of a self-guided walking experience that runs through the end of October. Once your scarecrow is in place, enjoy visiting the trail to see all the imaginative displays while soaking in fall colors and fresh air. The Blue Trail loop begins near the Children's Garden and winds toward Retzer Pond, offering a chance to get kids outside and active. The path features woodchipped and mowed grass with some gentle slopes, so it's manageable for most families, though note that it's not paved or lit after dark. The entire experience is completely free—perfect for a casual weekend outing or repeat visits throughout the season.
