Wheat Weaving

Join instructor Cookie Anderson for a two-hour introduction to wheat weaving at Boerner Botanical Gardens. You'll learn this traditional craft, which has a rich history—wheat weavings were once given as tokens during courtship and are often shaped into hearts. Today, people primarily create them as decorative pieces for holiday displays, and they make thoughtful homemade gifts. The class is suitable for families and adults interested in trying something new. Registration is required to attend. The workshop costs $15 for Friends of Boerner Botanical Gardens members or $20 for non-members. One important requirement: you'll need basic braiding skills to participate in the class.
